DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL BLOCK FOR GUESTS? WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND I STAY?
Yes! Rooms have been reserved at the Hotel Monteleone, The Wyndham New Orleans - French Quarter, and the Eliza Jane for our guests at a discounted rate. Please reference the Poston and Butera Wedding when booking your reservation or please click the "Travel" tab on our website to book your room. Another one of our favorite spots in the French Quarter is The French Market Inn (https://www.frenchmarketinn.com).
Do you have accommodation recommendations outside of the hotel blocks?
Our wedding festivities will take you through two of New Orleans’ most iconic neighborhoods! The welcome party will be at The Court of Two Sisters in the heart of the French Quarter, and the wedding and reception will be at The Elms Mansion in the picturesque Garden District.
We recommend staying in either the French Quarter, for its lively charm and proximity to the Friday events, or in the Garden District, for its stunning architecture and serene atmosphere near the wedding venue.
A word to the wise - there is a Mardis Gras parade on Saturday in the French Quarter and some streets will be blocked off, so make sure to give yourself enough time to travel to The Elms on wedding day in light of street closures. Happy Festival Season!!
Both neighborhoods offer a variety of accommodations including hotels and Airbnbs to suit every style and make for an unforgettable New Orleans experience!
Where is the wedding taking place?
The ceremony and reception on Saturday is at the Elms Mansion on St. Charles Avenue. Please take a look at the schedule on the "Home" tab of the wedding website for details about Friday night events.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is Semi-Formal.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and reception will be outdoors, with access to the inside of the mansion during the reception. There will be a second line between the ceremony and reception therefore be mindful of your shoe selection.
Can I bring my kids?
Although we love kids, the welcome party and wedding are adult only affairs.
How do I RSVP?
Please use the RSVP tab on this website to respond.
What is a second line?
A New Orleans second line is a lively, joyful parade tradition that celebrates special occasions, including weddings!
Led by a brass band, the “first line” consists of the couple and their wedding party, while the “second line” includes guests who follow along, waving handkerchiefs, dancing, and celebrating. It’s a symbol of love, unity, and the vibrant culture of New Orleans. Handkerchiefs will be provided.
Join us as we keep this tradition alive and celebrate our marriage NOLA-style!
Why New Orleans?
Aside from the fact that Bobby grew up in NOLA, New Orleans is a city like no other, where history, culture, and a little bit of magic come together in the most unexpected ways. From the soulful sounds of jazz and the delicious aromas of Creole cuisine to the vibrant colors of the French Quarter and the warmth of its people, NOLA is a place that captivates and inspires. It’s a city where every street tells a story, every meal is an experience, and every moment feels like a celebration. Simply put, New Orleans is a city that stays with you long after you’ve left—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Laissez les bons temps rouler - Let the good time's roll!
